Macili (Masyarakat Cinta Lingkungan) is a team created by students of the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia through the Student Activity Unit of the Student Study and Intellectual Reasoning Institute (UKM LEPPIM) Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) in implementing the concept of Higher Education Tridarma, one of which is being an agent of change by which is community service. This program focuses on environmental cleanliness with the concept of organic waste with the opening of the program on 18 September 2020 in Kampung Pasirangling, Suntenjaya, Lembang.

Macili team supervisor Dr. Eka Cahya Prima, S.Pd., M.T. is currently socializing the Macili program to the community at the Pasirangling Green School of Sustainable, Suntenjaya, Lembang.

Macili is one of the teams that implement the activity funding program of the Ministry of Education and Culture (KEMDIKBUD), namely the Village Development and Empowerment Holistic Program (PHP2D) from the two teams that passed the national selection representing the UPI. This team is supervised by Dr. Eka Cahya Prima, S.Pd., M.T. with 19 members, namely Taupik Saepuloh, Sarah Amelia N.W. Al Falah, Dela Ayu Nur Amalia, Kameela Munayya Tasneem, Elis Dayanti, Susi Novi Febrianti, Widi Aprilia Purnama, Fiqi Lestari, Israj Muhammad Ramdan H, Tria Nurwina Novianti, Miftahul Jannah, Falah Hasbi Assidiqi, Firda Siti Hodijah, Aldi, Hanif Mursyida , Azmi Candini, Syahbandi Uli Akbar, Imron Ahmadidan chaired by Reynard Bendict Septian, located in Kampung Pasirangling, Suntenjaya Village, Lembang.

This program from Macili runs for four months with various preparations, including administration, materials needed, and other resources. This activity consists of various stages and begins with planning including conducting a field survey in Kampung Pasirangling, then continued with counselling about the MACILI program with the New Habit Adaptation procedure for COVID-19. Then, from October to early November, the construction of a storage tank for cow dung waste will be started which will be processed into organic fertilizer. from early November to December, the process of developing vegetable waste processing using the Magot flies system is planned to be completed and start operating in December.

Kampung Pasirangling itself is located in Lembang fault and directly adjacent to the Cikapundung river. This river is also the creek of Citarum River which is a source of water for the people around Bandung Raya and Pasirangling. Besides, Pasirangling has a beautiful environment and is projected to become an Educational Tourism Village, but still lack of facilities for processing organic waste in the surrounding community, especially breeders. Therefore, based on the address of Reynard, who is the chief executive of the Macili team, said that in the implementation of the program, the Macili team had carefully prepared the program through discussion with community leaders around Pasirangling village.

“We are here to discuss with community leaders before submitting a proposal for this PHP2D program. And when discussing, some people here do have problems in the distribution of waste. Especially the problem of organic waste from farmers and organic vegetables from farmers. Being based on the problem, we propose this Macili program which at least can help the community in Suntenjaya Village and especially Pasiangling Village which is the projection of the Educational Tourism Village program by the Suntenjaya head of the village,” he stated.

This is in line with what was stated by Cecep as the head of RW.07 Kampung Pasirangling, that the Macili program from UPI has been started. The program had been designed between the community around Pasirangling village and the Suntenjaya Village Government in overcoming livestock manure waste that pollutes the environment and has benefits for farmers and breeders in increasing income benefits.
