The Culinary Arts Education Program of Study, Faculty of Technology and Vocational Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia facilitated lecturers in developing expertise competencies in the Asian patisserie and food field through the Lecturer Expertise Competency Development Training in the Asian Patisserie and Food Sector which is held from Monday to Tuesday (18-19 October 2021).
The implementation was divided into two areas of expertise, namely, patisserie and Asian food which involves partners from the ICA (Indonesian Chef Association) BPD West Java. The chefs were Chef Anton Kuswendi (Executive Chef GH Universal), Chef Saryono (Executive chef Best Western), and Chef Tice Mega Rahayu (Pastry Chef GH Universal).
Participants were divided into two groups according to the training materials. Chef Yono was the trainer for the Peking Duck and Beggar's Chicken for the Asian Food. And for the patisserie, Chef Anton and Chef Tice showed how to make Chocolate Showpiece and Danish Pastry. The training ended with an evaluation process of the dishes or products made by the instructors and all participants.
The Chocolate Showpiece was also presented for the 67th Anniversary of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia which was given directly by the Head of the Culinary Arts Education Program of Study at the UPI Partere Building on 19 October 2021. (Contributor: Nia Lestari)
